Crews Installing New Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Entrance Signs at Magic Kingdom

Crews are preparing to install entrance signage for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Magic Kingdom, and a new sign has been installed in a flowerbed nearby.

The new sign has a light on an arm above it. It’s covered in scrim, so we don’t know exactly what it’s for. It sits in the same flowerbed as the new Frontierland prop crates, in front of Critter Co-Op.

Recently, we’ve also seen progress on this section of the Walt Disney World Railroad station, which will likely house entrance signage for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. This spot was covered by a tarp for months. The tarp is now gone and there is scaffolding in front of it.

There are two square holes in a rectangle of wood. Electrical equipment is visible through the holes.

When we revisited Tiana’s Bayou Adventure a few days after taking the above photo, the wood appeared to have been painted.

It’s now a shade of brown that better matches the train station. It may ultimately receive more paint and likely more decorative elements.

In our last construction update, crew members had sketched out this approximate design.

Construction walls block this area but guests can walk under the train station through a tunnel on the right. Restrooms are available behind the station.

From the train platform, we looked down at the signage structure. Inside the wood framework are steel supports.

When we returned, two crew members were working on the structure, securing a long piece of wood behind the front section.

New shrubs have been planted in rows alongside the cliffs of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure near the station.

This space was previously just dirt and mulch. The shrubs will likely grow to fill the area more.

Holes in this rockwork have been patched and smoothed over. The rockwork still needs to be repainted.

A crew member was working underneath the train station, near the newly revealed lily flower pavement. Paneling was missing from a wooden column. The crew member appeared to be working on the ceiling. Wiring for queue lighting may run through the column and ceiling.

On the other side of the train station, more paneling was missing. Wires or cords were visible running out of a steel frame out of sight.

Right next to the train platform, several crew members were on this second-story landing during our first visit this week. The landing has a pair of double doors leading inside. Painter’s tape surrounds the window panes of the door and the doorway itself.

A few days later, the painter’s tape was still there but crew members were not. We could see inside the building, where scaffolding fills the space.

We also saw a Tiana’s Foods sign on what looked like a large crate.

A crew member on a ladder was working on the side of this building. Crews had removed the lanterns and some planks of wood from the wall.

Meanwhile, two crew members were preparing to do some work in a scissor lift in front of the barn.

We noticed a piece of plywood on a circular section of the pavement below the scissor lift. Behind the vehicle, one of the doors to the barn is white while the other is brown.

The scissor lift raised the crew members to the window, apparently to do more painting.

A few days later, the window didn’t look very different, but blue painter’s tape was visible on the inside of the window panes.

A blue lamppost has been installed in this flowerbed between the barn and the staircase. The railing at the front of the flowerbed has yet to be painted a matching blue. Other railings in the dirt bed are awaiting installation.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is scheduled to open this summer but a date has not been announced. It will open at Disneyland “later” in the year.
