In mid-June, the Disney Parks Blog announced that MagicBand+ interactions would be added to “Festival of the Lion King” at Disney’s Animal Kingdom for a limited time, in celebration of the 30th anniversary of “The Lion King.” Today, we got our first look at what guests can expect with those integrations.

During key moments throughout the show, the MagicBand+ lights up and vibrates. In some instances, the lights even move to the beat of the music being performed.

As the band around the centerpiece lights up various colors, guests wearing the new Lion King MagicBand+ will see the leaves behind Simba’s head change colors, as well.

Guests can experience these MagicBand+ interactions during the show until September 6.

Guests looking for other ways to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the film can check out Rafiki and Timon meet and greetsspecial menu itemsPandora jewelry charms, and merchandise at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Additionally, on July 12, the film will receive a theatrical re-release nationwide.
