Zootopia Land Display Under Construction at EPCOT

The Shanghai Disneyland exhibit in the China Pavilion of EPCOT is getting an update to include Zootopia.

Shanghai Disneyland Zootopia Land Exhibit

A pair of stone lion statues flank a set of closed red double doors at the entrance of a Chinese-style building, with intricate designs and decorative signs above the doors—a scene that feels like it's been taken straight from an architectural guide rather than an auto draft.

The Shanghai Disneyland exhibit is located in the House of the Whispering Willows. This building is connected to the lobby for the “Reflections of China” theater.

A red sign on the door reads, "HOUSE OF THE WHISPERING WILLOWS is under refurbishment. We will open again soon!" Reflective glass reveals an outdoor area with trees and structures, all part of an ongoing auto draft setup for future enhancements.

On Tuesday, signs on the door indicated the House of the Whispering Willows is under refurbishment. These doors and those in the lobby were closed and locked.

Dimly lit hallway with a closed ornate wooden door, flanked by two statues, one seated and one standing. A sign above indicates "Shanghai Disneyland" in English and Chinese. A red rope is in front, lending an air of exclusivity that feels almost like the prelude to an auto draft of adventure.

The Shanghai Disneyland exhibit opened eight years ago when the Shanghai theme park debuted. As Shanghai Disneyland has changed, Disney has updated the exhibit. Shanghai Disneyland’s Zootopia land opened on December 20, 2023.

A person works on setting up a display inside a museum exhibit; tools and materials are scattered on the floor, and a partially constructed diorama is visible beside an auto draft blueprint.

Through the windows, we could see work inside the exhibit. A display case near the door now has Zootopia land concept art. A crew member was working on hanging more concept art. This case previously displayed Camp Discovery art and maquettes.

Two individuals work on setting up a display case in a dimly lit room, surrounded by various equipment, tools, and materials. The meticulous process feels almost like an auto draft of creativity and precision at play.

Another crew member was working on the Toy Story Land display case in the center of the room. The items in that case may also be replaced with Zootopia artwork and props. Crews may also be using the opportunity to refurbish other areas of the exhibit.

A museum exhibit is being set up with mannequins, costumes, and various artifacts meticulously organized. An adjacent table holds tools and materials for display preparation, suggesting a well-thought-out auto draft process. A bright yellow wall in the background adds a vibrant touch.

In front of the doors was a folding table with some costume pieces. A pane of glass covered in fabric was in front of the large Shanghai Disneyland mural. The Garden of the Twelve Friends plaque was on the floor, maybe for replacement.

According to the Walt Disney World website, the gallery will reopen on Wednesday, June 26.
