Can you believe we’re less than a year away from the opening of Epic Universe, Universal Orlando’s new theme park?

Don’t get us wrong, Disney World has had a lot going on, too, with the opening of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and the news of some big expansion projects in Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom. But the future is a little more mapped out over at Universal Orlando. We know that Universal’s new theme park is set to open in time for summer 2025 if Universal can stick to its schedule. We’ve been keeping you updated on all the latest Epic Universe construction news, but here’s an extra interesting new development. Spoiler alert: it involves Disney World!

Say WHAT?! Well, if you’re close to the top of Disney’s Contemporary Resort, you’ll be able to see the current Epic Universe construction, specifically the Helios Grand Hotel (located inside the park) and Stardust Racers, both of which are largely complete when it comes to their base structures.

It also stands to reason that if you’re staying at a room on a high floor at the Helios Grand Hotel OR taking a ride on Stardust Racers and you look in the right direction, you could see parts of Disney World!

Of course, we’ll have to wait and see what the view looks like from the other side of town, but someday, we might see some theme park competition from across the way. Awkward? Or friendly? We’ll let you decide.

Epic Universe will be home to five immersive new lands, plus the Helios Grand Hotel. Those lands include:

• Celestial Park
• Super Nintendo World
• Dark Universe
• The Wizarding World of Harry Potter: Ministry of Magic
• How To Train Your Dragon — Isle of Berk

Out of these lands, we’ve got in-depth information about the rides, restaurants, and immersive experiences coming to Celestial Park, Super Nintendo World, How To Train Your Dragon — Isle of Berk, and most recently Dark Universe, which means we’re just waiting on the full look at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter: Ministry of Magic!

When we tell you fans are EXCITED about the big additions coming to Epic Universe, we mean it. Fans nearly freaked out when Universal revealed that a flaming windmill will debut at Dark Universe.

We can’t wait to continue to hear more about this new park and hopefully get it’s official opening day in a few months, so be sure to stay tuned to DFB! And if you’re staying at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, keep your eyes peeled for Epic Universe construction. You never know what might appear on the horizon!
