Walt Disney World has confirmed that they will submit a proposal on May 27th to the Orange County Economic Recovery Task Force for a “phased reopening of the resort’s theme parks.”
Both Disney and SeaWorld will present their plans to the Task Force beginning at 10:00am. Once approved, Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings would seek send a letter to Florida Governor Ron DeSantis for final approval.
Jim MacPhee, the Senior Vice President of Operations, will be give Disney’s presentation to the Task Force remotely.
While teams from Orange County visited both resorts for inspections today, Demings says that he has not seen the preliminary plans which are set to be released during tomorrow’s meeting.
The Task Force has already approved a plan for Universal Orlando, which reopens its theme parks to the public on June 5th.
