Disney World announced Reflections — A Disney Lakeside Lodge last year.
The Disney Vacation Club resort was set to occupy the area where Disney’s River Country used to be, just near Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. Despite there having been several construction permits filed in the area a few months ago, construction and development on the new resort may have been canceled.
According to WDWMagic, several situations point to the fact that Reflections may be indefinitely suspended. Some construction sources indicate that the delivery of materials has been permanently canceled and that work on some already-completed concrete pours has been removed.
Disney has also refrained from filing any notices of commencement for the area since April 3rd. There has yet to be any official announcement from Disney so, as of now, this cancellation has yet to be confirmed.
Largescale cancellations such as this are certainly a possibility with the global health crisis and resultant economic downturn. Disney has canceled major projects in past recessions, and we’ve already seen significant construction delays this year.
