After announcing on June 18th that theaters would reopen on July 15th, AMC has now pushed the reopening of theaters to July 30th. AMC’s reopening will happen in phases, with “most” theaters being included in the first phase.
Today’s announcement on social media cites the delayed debut of both Disney’s Mulan and Tenet as a reason for the prolonged closure.
AMC shared details on their website regarding enhanced cleaning procedures and theater capacity limitations that will be implemented once theaters reopen. Theaters will run at 30% capacity or less, and every other row will not be used in their traditional-style auditoriums. Guests will choose snacks from a limited menu, and physical distancing guidelines will be adhered to. All guests will also be required to wear masks, and those who don’t have one will be able to purchase a disposable mask at the box office for $1.
No word has been released as to whether or not AMC Dine-In Disney Springs 24 will be included in the first phase of reopening.
