The Best Walt Disney World Souvenirs

Lately, I’ve seen lots of articles on the DIS regarding the worst wastes of money, the best wastes of money, and so on, so I figured I would throw my two cents in and give you what I think are some of the best Walt Disney World souvenirs at which to throw your hard-earned money.

Personalized ornaments

Personalized Christmas ornaments are, in my opinion, some of the best souvenirs (if you celebrate the holiday, of course). My family gets one almost every year, and when we put up our Christmas tree, it’s a great way to remember our trips. We sometimes try to get an ornament that represents the “theme” of that particular trip, if there was one. For our first girls-only trip, we got a pink Mickey-shaped ornament with Cinderella’s glass slipper on it. You can personalize almost any ornament you buy from one of Disney’s many Christmas-themed shops. Pick out your ornament, bring it up to the front, and tell the cashier what you want written on your ornament. We always put the year on ours, and sometimes the names of the members of our party, if we were traveling with people we normally don’t travel with. I always look forward to getting these ornaments, and getting them personalized is a nice way to commemorate the trip and it doesn’t cost much extra!

Postcards

I’ve mentioned this in a previous article about ways to save money at WDW, but this is probably my favorite souvenir from the parks. These aren’t your normal postcards with poor art quality on flimsy paper; these postcards are often prints of bigger, much more expensive pieces of Disney art, and tend to be thick and sturdy. They’re super cheap, at only $5.00 a pop, and can be framed to display in your home or office, looking like real pieces of artwork.

One of my favorite postcards.

Snacks

This one might sound kinda weird, and maybe even pointless, but stay with me. At the end of every trip, I always buy a bunch of snacks to take home with me. I particularly like bringing home boxes of Mickey and friends cookies, and Mickey crackers. These snacks really help me with that post-Disney depression I know we all suffer from in the week (or two) following a Disney vacation. Whenever I miss my second home, I go into my cabinet and have a Disney snack, and, if I close my eyes, I feel like I’m right back in the parks. This isn’t only applicable to boxed snacks, either. Sometimes I’ll buy a baked good right before leaving, and, if I wrap it up well enough, it’ll be good to eat for the next couple of days.

Spirit jerseys

This one is a little more expensive, but I love getting spirit jerseys at the parks. I’m not a huge fan of wearing super obvious Disney merch outside of the parks (ex.: a t-shirt with Mickey’s face on it), but I think these are just stylish and unassuming enough to wear in my everyday life. Disney is constantly coming up with new designs, colors, and themes for these jerseys, which keeps the style from becoming boring and repetitive. I only own two at the moment (because they are almost too expensive for me), but I always look forward to seeing the new designs they come out with and slowly adding to my collection.

To me, these are some of the best bang for your buck souvenirs at Walt Disney World. I try not to break the bank on my souvenirs, as a Disney vacation is expensive enough, but I still love to treat myself while I’m there!
