Disney+ subscribers who also happen to be Star Wars fans have a BIG reason to rejoice today!
A brand new animated series called Star Wars: The Bad Batch will be coming to live streaming service sometime next year!
Although Disney hasn’t released a ton of details about the new show yet, the storyline will follow a unique squad of clones who vary genetically from their brothers in the Clone Army and will take place immediately following the Clone Wars.
Known as “The Bad Batch”, each clone will possess a singular exceptional skill and the crew will take on daring mercenary missions as they struggle to find their new purpose in the aftermath of the Clone Wars.
“While the Clone Wars may have come to its conclusion, our partnership with the groundbreaking storytellers and artists at Lucasfilm Animation is only beginning. We are thrilled to bring Dave Filoni’s vision to life through the next adventures of the Bad Batch” said Agnes Chu, senior vice president, Content, Disney+.
Star Wars: The Bad Batch will feature the same executive producer (Dave Filoni), as The Mandalorian and Star Wars: The Clone Wars while several other producers who have worked on various projects within the Star Wars universe will also be involved with the new series.
Even though Disney+ launched less than a year ago, there’s been a lot of new Star Wars content to watch and look forward to including seasons two and three of The Mandalorian which you can learn more about here!
