It’s those dog days of summer where you can’t seem to beat the heat. Your body is drenched in sweat and sunscreen, you’ve already walked 6 miles, and it’s not even 3pm. If this sounds familiar, it is probably because you’ve experienced Disney in the summer months. This experience is not for the faint of heart. The sun beats down on you hard as you stumble to find some air conditioning. Drinking water, enjoying tasty treats, and taking breaks is great, but you want to experience the park! So what rides/attractions should you do? Here are a few “Beat the Heat” must-dos.
This seated 21-minute experience is air conditioning heaven. You get to enjoy an attraction Walt Disney himself worked on while giving your legs a break. Depending on what part of the day you are in, you might just want to ride it a second time.
For this attraction, the wait and show are inside, so you are away from that blasting heat. The show may only last 10 minutes, but you also get the waiting time as well. In the past, on ridiculously hot days, we’ve done PhilharMagic 4+ times to beat the heat.
The song may get stuck in your head, but the sweat won’t be sticking to your body in this indoor paradise. The dark lights and rainy atmosphere will even further make you believe that it is not 98 degrees outside.
While there is only a small portion that’s inside, this moving ride will give you the air flow you most desperately crave. You also have the portion of the ride that travels inside Space Mountain that has you in complete darkness. This peaceful ride will help you beat the heat.
This is often an attraction that gets passed by for many Disney goers, but on a hot day, it should not be missed. If you catch the doors at the right time, you can walk right in and enjoy the 10-15 minute show that awaits you. Even if your family thinks you are ridiculous for seeing it, they will find themselves cracking up as well.
Another great indoor attraction. You will wait in an indoor holding area as well that is all air conditioned. The best thing about this is that you can get a tad different experience every time. Fingers crossed you get picked!
