Disney’s Hollywood Studios has officially reopened its gates to guests!
The reopened Disney World parks have implemented a number of new health measures for the safety of both guests and Cast Members, including required face coverings for all Cast Members and guests age two and older. With all of the changes around the parks, we wanted to see what it’s like to ride some of our favorite attractions — like Slinky Dog Dash!
While Disney’s Hollywood Studios looked more crowded today relative to the other grand reopenings we’ve attended, Slinky Dog Dash’s wait time has been fluctuating pretty drastically throughout the day. When the park first opened, it had a posted wait time of 65 minutes, but by mid-afternoon, the wait time had dropped down to a 25-minute posted wait. Every now and then it would climb back up, but we were able to strike while the iron was still hot!
Speaking of hot, it’s a pretty hot day, so we’re anxious to make our way to the shaded area of Slinky Dog Dash’s queue!

Since guests were socially distancing, the line appeared longer at times than it actually was. Markers have been placed throughout the queue area showing guests where they can stand.
Plexiglass barriers have been installed in several segments of the queue where physical distancing is more challenging.
Since the queue for Slinky Dog Dash doubles back on itself, these walls will provide guests with protection when six feet of space cannot be achieved.
Once we got up to the loading area, we saw Cast Members were wearing plastic face shields in addition to their face masks. Cars were being loaded every-other row with empty seats between each party. There was a hand sanitizer station located right next to the entrance before boarding.
Cast Members didn’t appear to be wiping down the seats in between guests when we rode Slinky Dog Dash today. We’ll be sure to try and find out more information regarding how frequently they’ll be cleaning the attraction on future visits.
Other than having to wear our face mask for the entire ride, the rest of Slinky Dog Dash was the same as we’d remembered it! We were especially excited to see the big finale again featuring our old pal Wheezy!
We’ll be back with more of our adventures soon, but for now, check out what our first time returning to Oga’s Cantina at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge was like here!
