Getting your kids to eat fruits and vegetables can be tricky. After all, with names like Brussel sprouts, horned melon, and dragonfruit these foods can be almost as scary as monsters!
But, Mike and Scully from Disney’s Monster’s, Inc. are here to help prove that vegetables and fruits can be fun!
Dole Food Company is teaming up with the Disney franchise for its “Fruits and Veggies Don’t Have To Be So Scary” campaign. The goal is to take the scare factor out of fruits and veggies for kids (and adults) — from the most common items like bananas to the more obscure like artichokes.
“Whether it’s their angry names and thorny exteriors, or simply a misperception about taste and preparation, produce paranoia has become a very real phenomenon,” said William Goldfield, Dole’s director of communications.
Dole has added stickers of Mike and Sully on millions of Dole bananas and Pineapples throughout North America. We wonder if we’ll see them at ‘Ohana?
Dole also teamed up with Disney and Pixar to created recipes inspired by Monster’s Inc. characters including Chicken-Stuffed Roz Heads.
