We’re live from the grand re-opening of Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World!
Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run Queue
Shopping is a little different since Disney World re-opened. Some virtual queues have been implemented and social distancing markers are placed everywhere to create distance between guests. Earlier, we saw that The Marketplace Outpost in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge was roped off and only allowing one guest per shop. We headed to The Droid Depot and Savi’s Workshop to see if the hands-on experiences were any different than before.
Savi’s Workshop
Savi’s Workshop is usually a very involved experience. Guests have the opportunity to build a lightsaber from scratch with the guide of an expert. The “show” allows you to choose the parts that will create your own unique lightsaber. As of now, guests can only buy the pre-built Legacy Lightsabers from Savi’s.

The building experience is temporarily on hold. You can still enter Savi’s and walk around inside the building to select your lightsaber. You still need to make a reservation with a Cast Member in order to buy the lightsaber and enter the building though.

The Droid Depot
The process for building your own droid is pretty much the same as it was prior to closing. You need to make a reservation on the My Disney Experience app and make your way to the depot once it’s your turn. The shop already had limited capacity and asked guests to wait outside in a line before entering.

The only small differences you will notice are the social distancing markers around the droid building station and the numbered markers by the conveyor belts. The tape and plexiglass barriers are used to separate guests from other travel groups and create physical distancing. Other than that, the droid-building process is the same!
