So far, we’ve shown you what the crowds have been like today and talked briefly about some of the wait times we were noticing. Now we’re going to share with you a more in-depth look at what the wait times have looked like in Disney’s Hollywood Studios so far today.
We attended the grand reopening of Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Animal Kingdom over the weekend and noticed most of the attractions had some pretty low wait times right when the parks opened. In fact, other than a handful of super-popular rides (including Splash Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, etc.) many of the rides at Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Animal Kingdom had pretty reasonable wait times throughout the day. Even Flight of Passage was a walk-on for most of the day.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios is a different animal, though. Right when the park opened, many attractions already had some hefty lines. Do keep in mind, this park does not have as many attractions as say Magic Kingdom and one of the biggest attractions can only be accessed through the use of a virtual queue.
10AM
The first batch of Rise of the Resistance boarding passes went quickly this morning when they were released at 10AM. Tower of Terror was already up to a 30-minute wait while guests seemed to be heading more towards Toy Story Land and Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge respectively.
Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run had a 55-minute wait around opening time while Slinky Dog Dash and Toy Story Mania also had long lines. Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway was also a popular first stop with a 60-minute wait time right when the park opened.
Attraction like those on Hollywood Boulevard had some pretty low wait times initially, but all of this changed rather quickly!
11AM
About an hour later, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge crowds seemed to disperse into other areas of the park. Millennium Falcon was down to a 25-minute wait.
Right about now is when we started to see wait times for Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster and Tower of Terror rise. Around 11AM both attractions had a 50-minute wait time. Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway was up to a 70-minute wait.
We’ll continue to update this post throughout the day so you’ll know what to expect in terms of wait times at a newly reopened Disney’s Hollywood Studios, so stay tuned!
