We’re always on the lookout for a new Disney+ documentary.

Can you blame us? With winners like The Imagineering Story and Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian, Disney+ originals KNOW how to do a good doc. Next up on the doc-ket is Howard: The Howard Ashman Story. This film will tell the tale of legendary lyricist Howard Ashman — and now we have a release date AND a trailer. Take a look!

Howard will start streaming on Disney+ on August 7th, so get ready to learn about the mind behind Ariel’s voice and the Beast’s soul. The trailer shows Ashman working alongside iconic Disney voices as you hear the testimony from his coworkers of how amazing a man he was, and how he passed too soon.

We certainly jump at the opportunity to learn anything about bygone Disney greats. Ashman’s lyrics have had a special place in our hearts since we first heard them, so we’re excited to learn a little bit more about the man behind them. Keep an eye on DFB for all the latest Disney+ updates!
