Our Top 10 Masks Your Kids Will ACTUALLY Wear at Disney World

It can be tricky to get your kiddo to wear face masks all day long at a theme park, especially the littlest of travelers. With Disney World’s current policy stating that all guests above the age of two must wear face masks at all times, it’s important to master the art of getting the littlest travelers to be comfortable.

Some tricks that may work on your little one is to bring masks they will actually WANT to wear, as well as masks that are SUPER comfy. Here are ten types of masks (along with tips!) we’ve spotted so far that we think the kids will be more than happy with wearing all day.

Masks That DON’T Tie Around Their Head

In our experience, kids tend to be a little fussier when wearing masks that tie around the backs of their heads, especially when the fit isn’t “just right.”

Adults may find the masks that tie around their head more comfortable as it takes pressure off of the ears (and we found some highly rated ones on Amazon if you’re interested!), but for some kids, you’re better off going for masks with ear loops. And if your kid is fussy over the size of the loops not fitting perfectly, you can stock up on loop fasteners to keep the loops snug to their head.

Face masks are something you definitely want to make sure fit comfortably on everyone, especially the young ones!

Masks with Fun Colors and Patterns

Face masks are the new “must-have” accessory that gives us a unique opportunity to show a little bit of our personality, interests, and hobbies. The silver lining in all of this is that when you’re out in public, your face mask can be a new extension of your outfit!

The same goes for the youngest travelers. Before leaving for vacation, let your kids pick masks that include their favorite colors, patterns, and characters. Having them pick their favorites may make the mask-wearing process in the parks easier! There are TONS of mask options on sites like Etsy, so this could become a new fun activity to do with the family!

Check out some of the DFB Face Masks! Used with loop fasteners, these should be good for kiddos, too!

Masks Made With the Most Comfortable Material

Although your kid may be excited first thing in the morning to wear their favorite new mask, if it’s not comfortable, they may rip it off by lunchtime. Sometimes it’s best to just stick with a basic black mask, like these on Amazon that come with lots of great reviews. They even come with a nose bridge wire which can be super helpful if you wear glasses.

Comfort is king! You could find the cutest masks in the world, but if it’s scratchy, doesn’t fit right, or is made with uncomfortable material, it could ruin your kiddo’s day.

If your kid insists on wearing a certain mask that has uncomfortable ear loops, invest in some ear protectors on Amazon (they’re only $7.99 for a pack of five).

We have heard that masks made with double gauze cotton are EXTRA comfy and feel almost like those soft muslin baby blankets — doesn’t get much comfier than that! Be sure to take a look at the materials used to make the mask and don’t base your decisions solely on the fun design!

Make sure you know where all those “mask-free” Relaxation Stations are to give your kids a break from wearing their masks throughout the day!

Keeping the kids happy and comfortable is already challenging enough in Disney World, especially in the middle of summer. Add on top of that the challenge of keeping a mask on their face all day and you may quickly find yourself in a sticky situation with some not-too-happy campers!

It’s critical to take time ahead of your trip to research masks and see how your kiddos react to wearing them for extended periods of time. Give lots of masks test runs at home and around town, and make sure they understand how important it is to keep them on when in the theme parks!
