You know we love cupcakes! So, you can imagine how excited we were to find a new treat waiting for us at the Market at Ale and Compass!
The Welcome Home Confetti Cupcake looks like the perfect snack to celebrate a day filled with excitement from the re-opening of Disney’s Hollywood Studios and EPCOT.
The festive-looking treat has a yellow cake base with colored sprinkles scattered throughout the whole cupcake. Floating on top of the cake is an ocean of blue frosting with a yellow-colored white chocolate fish swimming on top.
A trail of edible pearls and a thin piece of gold-letter embossed chocolate round out the Welcome Home Confetti Cupcake.
So, is the Welcome Home Confetti Cupcake a sweet and delicious celebration? The cupcake looks like a party but, unfortunately, is pretty boring. The cake was dry and, aside from the fun colored sprinkles, largely forgettable.
The thick layer of frosting on top was typical vanilla buttercream, except for the vibrant color, which can get a bit messy. Again, we were hoping for something a little more exciting for a cupcake meant to welcome us home to Walt Disney World.
For $5.99 plus tax, this is a fun treat if you’re looking for a commemorative snack, but there are better cupcakes to be found around Disney World. Maybe you can head over to Sprinkles at Disney Springs for one of these limited-time cupcakes to satisfy your sweet tooth!
