Do you have a go-to park plan when it’s a rainy day in the Sunshine State?
If not, we’ve got an idea for you! We found a pretty great rainy afternoon escape in EPCOT, complete with a perfect pairing to enjoy while waiting out the weather. We just so happened to be in the Morocco pavilion as the rain started to come down.
So it was time to buy a little time… and buy a little something to eat! We actually made two stops to create our combo. First, we noticed a new arrival in the small countertop pastry case at the Juice Bar connected to Spice Road Table right before it started to pour.
We chose the Dried Fruit Cake out of the three new cake slices ($7.50 each), which also included Pistachio White Chocolate and Chocolate among the choices.
Just across the way, of course, is the pavilion’s Counter Service restaurant, Tangierine Café. The mood struck for some coffee to go along with our cake, and that’s exactly what you’ll find served at the bakery case in the back of the café.
Along with their own assortment of desserts (including the fan-favorite Baklava), the spot serves up some specialty (boozy!) coffees among its beverage options: the Tangierine Coffee (with orange liqueur), the Casablanca Coffee (with vanilla liqueur), and the Kasbah Coffee (with hazelnut liqueur).
With both purchases in hand — the Dried Fruit Cake and the Kasbah Coffee — it was time to grab a seat and tuck in. You’ll find seating indoors at Tangierine Café, and there is also some lovely seating outdoors, with little nooks all around… and a fair bit of it is covered to protect from the elements while still enjoying the remarkably beautiful outdoor setting of the Morocco pavilion (depending on how hard the rain is coming down).
Digging into the Dried Fruit Cake, we were reminded of the exact reason we truly enjoy the pastries from this pavilion. It is a unique and lovely dessert option that is rich in flavor without being overly sweet!
This cake, which was wonderfully soft, included apricots and golden raisins as most prominent among the dried fruits.
It paired so nicely with our boozy cup of coffee, and it was an altogether lovely combination to savor while waiting for the sun to come out again. But then, as it turned out, we were in no real rush to leave after all…
Our World Showcase travels also took us to see the newly reopened Traveler’s Cafe Starbucks, Mouse Gear, and more, and you can check it all out here!

Wishing you sunny days (or maybe even the chance to enjoy a nice rainy one) from EPCOT for now!
