Sleepy Hollow Refreshments is an iconic spot to grab a quick bite at Disney World, but it’s also the center of a lot of paranormal food activity.

You see, menu items have a way of disappearing and reappearing at this mysterious Magic Kingdom spot A LOT!
Previously, we’d seen the Churro Ice Cream Sandwich exit stage left shortly before the parks shut down. Even its replacement, the Ice Cream Cookie Sandwich, has vanished from the menu!
But look at who’s come crawling back — it’s the Sweet-and-Spicy Chicken Waffle Sandwich! This item first appeared at Sleepy Hollow almost a decade ago and while it’s come and gone at its leisure over the years, it has returned once MORE.
Sweet-and-Spicy Chicken Sandwich
This sandwich features a deep-fried battered chicken breast, ladled with a sweet and spicy sauce, and topped with a crunchy, creamy slaw all nestled in a freshly-made waffle. Past permutations featured hefty and, more recently, MUCH smaller chicken breasts (much to our dismay!). This time, our chicky was a decent size!
Accompaniments have ranged from fresh arugula, which added a nice pepperiness to this sandwich, to the slaw we’ve seen for the past few years. Still, each bite is wonderfully balanced with one of our favorite flavor combos — we like spicy and we like sweet, but put ’em together and they can’t be beat!

The Sweet-and-Spicy Chicken Sandwich costs $10.49 and it comes with a side of crispety, crunchety House Made Potato Chips! These chips can be found at many quick-service locations around Disney World but we still adore them. They’re thick and substantial to chomp into. These are some satisfying chips, guys. The saltiness of the chips really makes the sweet tanginess of sandwich’s sauce SING! We’re talking some serious YUM factor here!

Other big-league snacks have also made a repeat appearance here alongside the chicky sammy. You’ll still find its sweeter cousin, the Fresh Fruit Waffle Sandwich (another fav of ours because: NUTELLA!), Foot-long Corn Dogs (we’re still crossing our fingers for the return of the hand-dipped Disneyland style corn dogs that were here a few years back! SWOON!), funnel cakes, and, of course, Mickey Waffles.

So stop on by Sleepy Hollow to try the returning Sweet-and-Spicy Chicken Waffle Sandwich because you never know when it could disappear again! Keep in mind that while Disney World is placing a huge emphasis on Mobile Order, Sleepy Hollow is still NOT available to pre-order your food with the service.
