It was with heavy hearts we reported one of our favorite ice cream spots, Ample Hills Creamery, would no longer be operating at Disney World.
The company filed for bankruptcy back in March and was purchased by new owners who’ve decided not to renew their contract with Disney.
A second Ample Hills Creamery location was being built at Disney Springs before the closures occurred and it was expected to open by winter. Here’s a photo of the construction walls that were surrounding the new Ample Hills Creamery location which still had its “coming soon” signs up until recently.
But as you can see in this picture taken today, the coming soon signs have now been removed!
Even though we have Gideon’s Bakehouse and Everglazed Donuts & Cold Brew to look forward to, it’s still very sad and gloomy seeing the Ample Hills Creamery signs are no longer up! We had such high ice cream aspirations for this spot!
Like we said, though — there will be plenty of Gideon’s cookies to help us soften the blow soon. We’re also looking forward to trying their expanded menu which will include cake-by-the-slice along with their own line of unique coffees like the Original Peanut Butter Iced Coffee! We will continue to keep you posted on the construction taking place in Disney Springs. So be on the lookout!!
