There have been a ton of changes to the way that we do a day at Disney.
One of the BIGGEST adjustments we’ve had to make is wearing a mask all day (and getting used to seeing others wear masks!). Well, we’ve been back in Disney World for a few weeks now, so we know a thing or two about the best masks around. No two faces are the same and everyone has different preferences, so we’re bringing you a few options for our BEST of the BEST face masks!
DFB Masks
Ok, ok, so maybe we’re tooting our own horn here, but if you’re looking for CUTE Disney mask designs, we think we’ve got some real winners. DFB has released a collection of TOTALLY adorable face masks — you’ll definitely be able to find a design you love. PLUS, $1 from each face mask purchase goes to No Kid Hungry! Now THAT’S a good cause.
These masks are soft and super comfy. They’re a great option for your Disney trip, or just your trip to the local market! Cute is cute, wherever you are! And this way you can bring a little Disney into your everyday life!
And no, all of our designs don’t have to do with Disney food (although some of them definitely do!). Use your face mask to remind your fam that you’re WINNING Disney World or that you love Jack-Jack Num Num Cookies. Each style is $14 and some are even customizable!

Homemade Masks!
When we asked our team about their favorite face masks, a lot of them came back touting a homemade face mask! Whether you get it from a family member or from an independent seller, homemade masks can give you more control over the quality of materials, fit, and even design!
Did you know you don’t even need to be able to sew to make your own Disney face mask? We’ve got tutorials for BOTH sew and no-sew face masks, so if you’re thinking of making your own, take a look!
If you don’t want to make your own and don’t know someone who can make you one, you can find sellers on Etsy who put a lot of care into their masks. Etsy gives you the power to shop around and find a design and fit that looks best for you, while still getting some of the benefits of a homemade mask. You’re usually supporting a small business when you purchase through Etsy as well, so that’s a nice bonus.
We love these face masks from StitchLifeBags that have fun fabrics and a comfy fit. The elastics ARE a little tight, so if that’s a concern grab some ear savers or a mask extender! For another option that runs a little larger, we love the masks from GlamBridalGifts. These come with earloop sizers and they’re way comfortable. Both of these options have filter pockets!
Overall, we love the metal nose bridge, which helps the mask sit more tightly on your face (and reduces sunglass or glasses fogging!). And you may also want to look for a mask that’s “shaped,” meaning it has a bit of a bump-out around the nose and mouth so it’s easier to breathe, and it has cut-away fabric beneath your eyes.

Bow Shoeshoe Masks for a Good Cause
Another winner amongst our team were masks from Bow Shoeshoe. This company works to benefit communities in Lesotho in a concrete and tangible way. On top of donating money back to Lesotho, they also travel to the country to train people to sew masks with the local fabrics, teaching them trade skills in the process. Bow ShoeShoe also travels to and benefits communities in South Africa and New Orleans.
We LOVE that these masks benefit a good cause. Plus, some of our team members consider these masks the REAL winners in comfort. They tie around your head (instead of pulling on your ears) and they’re machine washable.

Lightweight and Comfy Options
Last but certainly not least, we’re talking about the basics. Disney World is in Florida so that means it’s HOT and, possibly more importantly, HUMID. You’re going to be wearing your mask for a long period of time and things are going to get toasty. So, we’re bringing you some of our favorite lightweight and comfortable options, too!
We really like this Tie-around Mask. You don’t realize how important it is to get those straps off of your ears until it’s hour four and you’re sweating up a storm in the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad queue! If the ear loops don’t bother you THAT much (some of our team prefer them!), opt for this Standard Cloth Mask. It’s lightweight and the ear loops are cloth instead of elastic — that’s a LOT less irritating.

Whatever mask you go with, it’s a good idea to have some back-ups. We like to bring several disposable masks in our park bags. Sometimes, disposable masks are going to be your lightest and easiest option when things get really toasty and it’s always a good idea to have a few back-up masks anyway — just in case. And if you need extras, Disney is selling disposable masks in select locations as well.
That said, note that disposable masks don’t absorb sweat. So bring extras for when things get swampy.
Overall, these are our current FAVORITE picks when it comes to face masks to wear in Disney World. We’ll probably try out some new ones, but it’s going to be difficult to stray from these reliable options! As always, keep an eye on DFB for all the BEST tips for wearing a face mask in Disney World!
