Splash Mountain has been getting a lot of attention lately!

The Walt Disney World attraction will soon be transformed into a Princess and the Frog ride. Since the announcement, fans have been flocking to the Briar Patch gift shop to pick up Splash Mountain merchandise. We don’t know when the ride will be shut down for refurbishment or how long it will take for the ride to reopen once construction begins. Today, we notice something interesting while perusing the My Disney Experience app today!
Today, we noticed the app listed Splash Mountain as temporarily closed and has been for hours. It isn’t completely unusual for Disney rides to be temporarily closed due to maintenance issues or weather. However, we received a picture from a Magic Kingdom guest that was pretty interesting.

The attraction is DRAINED. Only a few puddles in sight! We don’t know the reasoning behind the drainage at this time.
