Disneyland opened on July 17th, 1955, so this year marks the 65th anniversary of Walt Disney’s original theme park.

While Disneyland itself remains closed, some of Downtown Disney’s restaurants and stores have reopened and new Disneyland 65th Anniversary merch has been released at World of Disney and online.

Recently, we told you about an auction house that would be presenting, “Disneyland: The First 65 Years,” a sale of over 1,000 artifacts from Disney’s history! Van Eaton Galleries in Sherman Oaks, California, will be hosting the live auction on August 15th and August 16th and there are many, MANY unusual Disneyland items to bid on!

Friend of the blog, Heather Sievers, went down to Van Eaton’s showroom where many of the items up for auction are being displayed. She had her camera handy and took LOTS of great photos for us so we could all pretend like we were THERE with her!

Umm, how much do you think that Splash Mountain sign in the background of this pic is going to go for?! With the ride slated to become a new Princess and the Frog-themed attraction, this little piece of memorabilia will be quite the collector’s item someday!

Heather also got up close and personal with the mailbox we saw advertised in the auction’s catalog! How cool would it be to use this item as your actual mailbox at your house?

For Haunted Mansion peeps, she spotted several spooky pieces of memorabilia including the Club 33 exclusive 50th-anniversary Haunted Mansion tiki glasses, swizzle sticks, and coasters that came out last year.

There’s even one of the Stretching Room portraits and a Haunted Mansion butler costume up for grabs!

Check out this weathered-looking tombstone! It’s a little hard to make out who it belongs to, but what a cool Haunted Mansion piece to add to your crypt!

If you’re shopping for something a little less macabre, there are all sorts of vintage souvenirs and ephemera to bid on too! Check out this super-mod Disneyland ashtray featuring a map of the park.

Heather had her eyes set on this Mid Century tin Disneyland globe. One of the writers on our team was actually lucky enough to stumble across this rare find at a toy fair a few years ago! Can’t wait to see what this one goes for!

There are so many cool collectibles and artifacts featured in this auction! Check out the Disneyland Hotel coin bank and measuring cup in this case! We’re also pretty obsessed with this vase which is designed to look like an original Disneyland popcorn box!

Well hello, big fella! This well-loved sea turtle is looking for a new home! We can’t wait for someone to adopt him. Do you think Crush would want to Turtle Talk with him?

We also spotted this spooktacular Hatbox Ghost figurine and faux carved pumpkin from Disneyland’s Halloween decorations.

Got some spare change laying around? How about sticking it this old-timey Matterhorn coin bank! We’re pretty infatuated with the artwork on this thing and you can even see the Finding Nemo submarines along the base of the mountain. Of course, back when this coin bank was made, the attraction was 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea: Submarine Voyage!

This animatronic doll head from it’s a small world is a little creepy looking without its wig on, but it would be pretty incredible to own a part of the iconic attraction! We hope someone who wants to restore the retired gal picks her up!

Here’s another it’s a small world animatronic that’s also up for sale — this time with plenty of hair along with a fully-dressed body AND a tambourine! And LOOK! You can also bid on a retired it’s a small world wait time sign that was actually once used at the park!

A couple of cool replicas from the swingin’ Enchanted Tiki Room are also on display including the barker bird from the original attraction as well as a classic sign!

Ever dreamed of owning your own Disneyland trash can? Now you CAN, literally!

There are tons of original pieces of artwork including carvings, photographs, illustrations, props, and signs adorning the walls!

We could spend hours looking at all the Disneyland items that are featured like a giant gallery wall in this showroom! They even have some wacky odds and ends like a piece of one of the ride vehicles from Toy Story Midway Mania featuring Mr. Potato Head! We also spy with our little eye a Mickey Mouse-shaped egg from Disneyland’s Easter egg scavenger hunt and a piece of a “plant” the Alice and Wonderland attraction too!

Wanna go for a ride on Space Mountain without leaving your living room? Then you’ll want to bid on this ACTUAL vehicle that’s been retired from the attraction, that’s for sure!

We’re guessing that Space Mountain ride vehicle will be fetching a hefty price, but you’ll find plenty of smaller, more affordable items that will likely sell for less, like these Disneyland figurines and lighters.

Being huge nerds for food-themed collectibles from Disneyland’s past, this retro paper napkin and popcorn box caught our eye!

We would’ve brought this Carnation Ice Cream Parlor place mat home right away, but to the highest bidder it must go!

Okay, we might need to bid on some of these relics like this old Polynesian Terrace menu!

…and this one from one of our favorite Disneyland restaurants, The Blue Bayou!

If anyone asks you for directions to Disneyland, you can just point them to this old street sign!

Walt Disney himself was a huge fan of miniatures, so we think he’d get a kick out of these models of the Mark Twain riverboat. We’re pretty fond of Frontierland, so these other Old West items might be something we’ll be bidding on!
