Have you ever dined at the Ale & Compass Restaurant in Disney’s Yacht Club Resort?
If you’re not familiar, this Table Service restaurant serves coastal (New England-inspired) comfort cuisine, joining the Ale & Compass Lounge and The Market at Ale & Compass to form the Ale & Compass dining concept for the Resort. While the restaurant is currently closed, the Yacht Club will begin welcoming guests again on August 24th. And now some menu changes for the Ale & Compass Restaurant have been revealed as we look towards the reopening.
Reopening Information
Ale & Compass typically serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Currently, however, we’re only seeing hours listed for Breakfast (7:30AM – 11AM) and Dinner (5PM – 9PM) starting on August 24th.
And now we’ll take a look at what they’ll be serving up!
Breakfast Menu Changes
Ale & Compass Restaurant previously served both a Breakfast Buffet and a la carte options for morning guests. Upon the initial reopening, however, the Buffet Breakfast will be unavailable.
However, favorite items among the a la carte offerings that will be available are the Dark Chocolate Waffle and Salted Caramel-Apple French Toast, along with Eggs Benedict, the Breakfast Protein Bowl, Blueberry-Bacon Pancakes, a Country Ham and Cheddar Omelet, and the American Breakfast.
Removed from the a la carte options are the Open-faced Skirt Steak Sandwich, Shrimp and White Cheddar Grits, the Egg White Omelet, and the Breakfast Flatbread.
Alas, the Captain’s Bloody Mary with Lobster Claw Garnish isn’t on the menu, but The New Englander — Joffrey’s coffee with Baileys Irish Cream — will be up for grabs. (Good morning!)
Under the Kids’ Create-Your-Own Meals, the Mickey Frittata has been removed from the Entrée options; but items like Mickey Waffles, Blueberry Pancakes, and the Mini Parker House Egg, Ham, and Cheddar Sandwich will still be available.
Oh, and among the Create-Your-Own Sides, kids will still be able to pick the Sun Butter Cookie among their Choose Two options, though Turkey Bacon has been removed.
Dinner Menu Changes
Though we are not seeing lunch hours listed at the moment, Dinner will still be served at Ale & Compass Restaurant!
Among the Starters, the Jumbo Lump Crab Cake and Oven-Roasted Meatballs have been removed. The popular Parker House Rolls and Spreads, though, are still on the list!
Under Salads and Flatbreads the Wedge Romaine Salad has been removed, along with the Applewood Smoked Bacon Flatbread and White Clam Flatbread. Flatbreads aren’t gone entirely, though, as the Chipotle-Barbecue Chicken and Seasonal Market Vegetable are still on the menu.
Main Plates do not currently list the popular Coastal Clambake, or the Cabernet-Braised Short Ribs or Barbecue Pork Chop.
The options are still plentiful, though, including — but not limited to — the New England Seafood Pot Pie for seafood fans and the Bacon and Vermont Cheddar Burger for the landlubbers!
No longer among the Enhancement options are Lobster Mac & Cheese, Half Lobster, Spiced Grilled Corn or Sauteed Wild Mushrooms.
The Kids’ Dinner Entrees no longer list Oven-baked Shrimp and Clam among their choices, but Pasta Bolognese and Baked Sustainable Fish (among others) remain. And the Choose Two options for Kids saw the removal of Roasted Carrots, Sweet Potatoes, Quinoa, and Vanilla Chai Pudding. But those Mini Macaroon Ice Cream sandwiches remain!
Adults, though… I have to break it to you that the Trio of Puddings (Chocolate, Blackberry, and Butterscotch with Mix-Ins) is not currently listed under the Desserts.
The Twelve-Layer Chocolate Cake is there, though, along with the Warm Apple Cobbler!
To drown your sorrows over the lack of pudding, you can know that the How Dare You (Fernet Branca Menta, fresh Lemon Juice, and Simple Syrup topped with Tonic Water) and the Godvia Chocolate Martini are among the After Dinner Drinks .
So, now you know a little more about what you can look forward to with a visit to Ale & Compass Restaurant! Remember, to dine in a Walt Disney World Resort hotel restaurant during this initial phase of reopening, day guests (those not staying at the hotel overnight) must have an Advance Dining Reservation, and hotel Guests are also highly encouraged to have a confirmed dining reservation as well.
We look forward to sending you greetings again soon from Disney’s Yacht Club Resort!
