As Disney World continues to reopen its dining locations around the parks, we’ve seen a few changes in different restaurants.
While the parks will be reducing their hours even further (though a few dining locations will remain open after the daily closures!), the actual experiences IN restaurants are somewhat different with the latest health and safety regulations. Although there are limited menus, distanced seating, and other updated measures in restaurants, there have also been modifications to bars around Disney World. And now, another Disney Worl bar has reopened.
Florida previously put in place a “bar ban” that prevented bars from staying open if they made most of their profits based on alcohol sales. Although spots like Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar closed temporarily, they were able to reopen in Disney Springs since they make at least 50% of its sales from food.
However, many other bars have remained closed around the parks and hotels. Recently, though, a Cast Member told us that Tambu Lounge would be opening soon at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort (and we’ve been SO HYPED for a Piña CoLAVA again).
And, thanks to our reader, @sweetliv_emmie on Instagram, we were able to get a first look at the reopened lounge! While Tambu Lounge will be serving both drinks and appetizers, the menu has been limited to bites like the California Roll, Big Kahuna’s Hot Wings, O’Ahu Island Flatbreads, and Kaikane’s Barbecue Pork Ribs.
Guests can view the menu through the QR Code that’s provided to them!
But, the drinks are still flowing over at Tambu Lounge with wine…
…special cocktails…
…beers…
…and even mocktails for the younger group that may be traveling with you over to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort!
Tambu Lounge is operating with distancing markers and plexiglass barriers to keep guests apart from Cast Members.
There is also a designated entrance and exit to keep the traffic flowing.
There are tables open for guests to sit and sip at (with a few blocked off as a safety measure).
If you haven’t been to the Tambu Lounge yet, we HIGHLY recommend it as a great place to grab a drink before you head to Magic Kingdom! We’ll continue to give you a look at all the other places that reopen around the parks and resorts as we answer your most burning questions too!
