Disney Springs Resort Area Hotels can give you on-property benefits with great savings.
Many of the Disney Springs Resort Area Hotels also contained small in-resort stores that sold a variety of Disney merchandise items as well as Disney park tickets. Now, we’ve got some updates about whether you’ll be able to visit these Disney stores during your next stay in one of these hotels.
Recently, we were able to speak with a representative from the B Resort and Spa who said that their in-resort Disney store is permanently closed and, in fact, has been closed since January of this year.
The representative indicated that she believed the store was closed because the hotel is so close to Disney Springs. It seems guests would rather do their shopping at the many stores in the Springs rather than the smaller store within the resort.
We were also able to speak with someone over at the Holiday Inn Orlando Disney Springs. The individual who we spoke to there said their in-resort Disney store is also closed, although he was unsure of how “permanent” the closure is.
But he did mention that Disney has already been removing a lot of items from the store, including the shelving. While we can’t say for certain, the removal of store shelving seems to indicate a fairly permanent closure to us. The representative from the Holiday Inn Orlando also noted that he knew Disney had been closing a lot of Disney Store locations outside of the resort.
We’ll keep checking on the status of these, but it seems like select Disney stores within the Disney Springs Resort Area Hotels may be a thing of the past. At least we’ve got LOTS of options at Disney Springs to keep us (and our wallets) very busy!
