Disney+ has released lots of new and exciting content and there’s lots more to come!
Whether you’re a fan of musical theatre, animal-related films, or the Muppets, there’s likely something on Disney+ for you! Now, thanks to today’s Q3 earnings call, where the Walt Disney Company discussed the results of its third fiscal quarter of 2020, we’ve got some more Disney+ news!
During this third quarter for the Disney Company, Disney+ launched in India and France, and made a limited launch in Japan! We now know that the paid subscriber base for Disney+ as of the end of the third fiscal quarter of 2020 was 57.5 million! As of August 3, 2020, however, that number has increased to 60.5 million!
WOW! That’s a lot of friends who share a love for all things Disney, Star Wars, Marvel, and National Geographic! By the end of this year, Disney+ will actually be available in 9 of the most major economies of the world!
We also learned that the new live-action Mulan will be released for an additional price on Disney+ in September! You can click here to learn all about how you’ll be able to see Mulan soon!
While the launch of Disney+ in Japan is only partial at the moment, it is expected that once Disney+ is launched fully in Japan, it will see more demand there. During the earnings call, we also learned that the focus of the Disney Company for Disney+ at the moment is to keep investing in new and exciting content!
According to Bob Chapek, the current Chief Executive Officer of the Walt Disney Company, the key to getting even more Disney+ subscribers is adding new content to the service. With the Walt Disney Company earning 145 Emmy nominations across all of their content, some of which came from Disney+, we’d say the future is looking bright for the future of Disney entertainment offerings!
We can’t wait to see what new and unique entertainment offerings premiere on Disney+ for us and our 60.5 million friends to enjoy!
