It looks like guests will have to wait at least a few more months for their next ride around Tomorrowland on the PeopleMover.
When Magic Kingdom reopened to guests in July, we noticed that the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover was not running. While there were signs outside of the attraction informing guests of the temporary closure, Disney did not announce an expected reopening timeframe.
But as of this morning, the Disney World refurbishment calendar has been updated to indicate an extended closure of the attraction. On the calendar, the PeopleMover is listed as “closed for refurbishment” from now through October 31st.
Currently, the PeopleMover is no longer listed on the refurbishment calendar starting on November 1st, however the attraction availability is subject to change.
While Disney hasn’t announced specific details regarding the reason for the closure, the PeopleMover was unexpectedly shut down back in March, in the days leading up to the park closure. We’ll keep an eye out for any additional information about the status of this Tomorrowland staple, so stay tuned!
