But the two table service restaurants in the France pavilion, Chefs de France and Monsieur Paul, remain closed. We recently got some news about what the future may hold for these two spots.

JBI LLC is the company that operates both Chefs de France and Monsieur PaulEric Weistroffer currently serves as the executive director of JBI LLC.

Chefs de France

Recently, Scott Joseph of Scott Joseph’s Orlando Restaurant Guide had the chance to speak with Bruno Vrignon, Executive Chef of EPCOT’s France Pavilion, about his retirement. Joseph also had the chance to speak with Weistroffer about the future of the restaurants in the France pavilion.

Joseph inquired when the full-service restaurants would reopen, to which Weistroffer suggested: “that the real question was if they would reopen.”

Due to the global situation, EPCOT and all of the Disney Parks closed for a significant period of time. Additionally, Walt Disney World’s cultural representative programs were all canceled indefinitely. After the closure, most of the individuals who worked at the France pavilion, including nearly all of the servers, returned home.

Even though EPCOT has reopened, Disney is currently only operating with a limited guest capacity. Weistroffer indicated that attendance numbers at EPCOT simply have not been enough to reopen all of the restaurants or to bring back its staff members that are currently furloughed.

Disney is also in the progress of completing the new La Crêperie de Paris location that was set to open in the pavilion this summer. No opening date has been announced or the new location at this time.

Of course, all of this all may change in the future, so we will keep an eye out for more news regarding the reopening of these restaurants. It will be interesting to see whether similar circumstances begin impacting other restaurants around EPCOT. We will let you know the latest as we find out more.
