Sometimes, you just need a lil’ taste of Disneyland, even while the theme parks are still closed. Luckily, we can always head on over to Downtown Disney, the Disneyland Resort’s shopping and dining district.
So, what’s new at Downtown Disney?!
Well, we’re glad you asked!
Disneyland Resort Construction Updates
Disneyland Park, Disney California Adventure, and the Disneyland hotels are still closed, but the resort is still undergoing some constuction.
Theme Park Gates
Though Orange County in California has been removed from the state’s coronavirus watchlist, Disneyland still has no reopening date. However, it seems like the theme parks are preparing to welcome guests again one day. We spotted some large plexiglass shields been installed along the gates and fencing at the main entrance to both parks.
Previously, we had only spotted sneeze guards at each of the turnstiles. These plexiglass shields on the gates cover about every other gate at both Disneyland and DCA.
It’s weird to get excited about acrylic shields at a theme park, but that’s where we’re at in 2020!
Disneyland Hotel
The Disneyland Hotel isn’t currently accepting guests, but it is still rolling out the carpet for future visitors! Or, as they put it, the green carpet, a.k.a. new grass.
There are patches of brown on the lawn, so it’ll be nice to see some new lush, green grass over here soon!
