We’re back at Magic Kingdom!
We’ve been dodging a few raindrops to see what new construction, food, and merchandise updates we could spot for you since our last visit! Let’s take a look at everything that’s NEW!
Construction Update at Magic Kingdom
Main Street, U.S.A.
Once we got inside the park, we noticed more social distancing tape had been added to one side of Main Street, U.S.A.! There are now “X” markers indicating where guests should stand to watch the Character Cavalcades at safe distances from each other!
The markers are only on the Main Street Confectionery’s side of the street. The other side with the Emporium and Casey’s Corner (which is still currently closed) doesn’t have any — for now.
Since the social distancing markers are mostly just sticky tape, the rain tends to mess with them and they need to be retaped every now and then! We’ll keep an eye on their development and update you with any new changes we see!
TRON Lightcycle Run
Next, we checked in on the progress of Disney World’s newest major headlining attraction in the making: TRON Lightcycle Run!
Construction on the high-speed coaster seems to really be kicking into high gear! Heavy equipment and workers were making progress on the show building when we stopped by.
Click here to read more about TRON Lightcycle Run’s progression!
TRON Lightcycle Run isn’t set to open until next year during Disney World’s 50th anniversary, so it’s still a long ways away from completion, but even a little rain didn’t keep workers away!
It’s only a matter of time before we’ll be zooming along on the new ride which will closely resemble Shanghai Disneyland’s TRON Lightcycle Power Run!
PeopleMover
The Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover isn’t quite as fast as TRON Lightcycle Run will be when it opens someday, but it’s still one of Magic Kingdom’s most-beloved rides!
The attraction has yet to reopen and according to some Cast Members we spoke with, there isn’t information just yet on when we’ll be riding PeopleMover again! The attraction has been added to Disney World’s refurbishment list and doesn’t look like it will open for quite some time. We’ll continue to provide you with more updates as soon as we know more!
Read more about the PeopleMover being added to the refurb list here.
Food Update at Magic Kingdom
Aloha Isle
Over the weekend, Magic Kingdom answered our prayers for coconut Dole Whip by bringing back one of our favorite snacks — the Kakamora Float!
But ALAS! We noticed the Kakamora Float wasn’t showing up on Aloha Isle’s mobile order menu yesterday! Cast Members told us they ran out of the other float components but they did have the coconut soft-serve, so we got a big bowl of that instead! It cost $4.99 and it was DELICIOUS!
Since the coconut Dole Whip is our favorite part of the Kakamora Float, we didn’t mind the change, but if you have your heart set on getting the full “Kaka” experience, you’ll have to wait for them to restock their pineapple juice, and blue curacao syrup, and chocolate Kakamora cake pops! We will let ya know when they have all the goodies back in stock.

The Plaza Restaurant
Wanna party with your own Mickey Mouses-shaped cake? We noticed The Plaza Restaurant is now carrying Celebration Cakes again!
Each cake costs $35 and is available in white or milk chocolate and since they aren’t overly decorated they’re great for celebrating any special occasion!
