Ahoy, mateys! I’m Heather, and I’ll be bringing you the up and coming on all things Disney Cruise Line. Welcome back again this week. Let’s see what’s new in the DCL world!
What’s New
Beginning today, the ability to check in online for your cruise has been temporarily paused. Why, you ask? All we know for sure is that it’s to allow for upgrades to be made to the system. What kind of upgrades, you ask next? It could be something as simple as facelift to match the new look to the My Reservations page that was introduced back in June. Or…could it be something like adding a COVID-19 waiver in anticipation that ships will be back on in the water before the new year? A little optimism never hurt! We don’t know when the system will come back online, but hopefully it will be soon!
Last week we talked about a new deal Disney made with Pearl Island to bring guests to this little slice of Bahamian paradise. Now, three different Port Adventures have appeared on the DCL website:
- Pearl Island Beach Escape with Lunch (N90)
- Pearl Island Beach Escape with Lunch and Snorkel Adventure (N91)
- Pearl Island Beach With Private Ocean View Cabana (N92)
Who’s ready to switch up their Nassau routine for one of these? The Castaway Cay cabanas are notoriously difficult to snag, unless you are booked in Concierge or are a lucky Platinum Castaway Club member – this would be a great option if you still want that cabana splurge on your next Bahamian cruise! While it appears booking has not gone live yet through DCL, these same excursions are bookable directly through Pearl Island’s website.
Weekly Specials
Most every week of the year, Disney Cruise Line releases special offers for Florida Residents and U.S. Military Personnel. There are also frequently IGT/OGT/VGT rates available for all guests to book. These offers are extremely limited in availability, and all come with certain restrictions, but the prices are amazing! You can book these online, on the phone, or with your travel agent. These are the current offers available this week:
