Disney World Water Parks Won’t Open Until 2021

While the theme parks in Disney World are now open, both of Disney’s water parks — Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park and Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park — remain closed.

Now we’ve got an update from Disney in terms of when we’ll potentially be able to take a splash at those water parks again.

Today, Disney has officially announced that, pending government approvals, Disney plans to reopen ONE of the two Disney water parks on March 7, 2021.

Disney has noted that when it reopens its water parks, they will welcome guests and Cast Members back in “a responsible way, with a plan focused on health and well-being.” They also noted that more details on their phased reopening plan — including a decision on the specific water park that will be reopening first — will be shared at a later time.

Disney also noted that the reopening date may change and, if it does, they will provide a future update and let guests know what to expect.

If you are unable to visit one of the water parks and utilize your ticket by December 31, 2021, the Disney website notes that you may “apply the value of a wholly unused ticket toward the purchase of a ticket for a future date.”
