Disney just recently announced that Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party in Magic Kingdom and this year’s Candlelight Processional in EPCOT will be canceled.
But, some holiday events, like the International Festival of the Holidays in EPCOT, will still be offered this year. Now, we’ve got some more details about what holiday decorations and special offerings you’ll be able to find this year in Disney Springs.
In previous years, we’ve seen some special holiday offerings over in Disney Springs — like the Christmas Tree Trail, which featured dozens of trees themed to all kinds of Disney movies and more!
We saw some seriously incredible trees last year. This one even had a monorail around it!
We also tried some special treats and found some adorable mugs on the Tree Trail.
Disney has confirmed this year that the “elaborately-decorated Disney Christmas trees” will be back, except they’ve noted that they will be “spread throughout this retail, dining and entertainment destination.” We don’t know all of the details yet, but, based on that statement, it sounds like the trees will be spread throughout various parts of Disney Springs, rather than confined to the singular trail that we saw in years past.
The Christmas Tree Trail could get rather busy and the pathways were a bit more narrow, so we could see why it would be a bit more difficult to organize it in such a way that would maintain social distancing. We actually like the idea of being able to enjoy these trees throughout more of Disney Springs. Ideally it will help to maintain social distancing between guests and it can become a bit like a scavenger hunt to find all of the speciality trees.
Disney has also stated that “in the evening, guests visiting areas within Town Center, West Side and The Landing will encounter a magical snowfall, adding an extra touch of wonder to their holiday shopping.” Snoap? Our good friend? Is it you?
Previously, it would “snow” in the Tree Trail area, but it sounds like that is going to be expanded this year to other areas in Disney Springs. We can’t wait to have a little snow party in the 80 degree Florida “winter.”
In addition, Disney has announced that Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar will again be transformed into Jock Lindsey’s Holiday Bar with “delightful holiday décor and a delicious limited-time menu filled with festive favorites.”
Last year, we tried some YUMMY items from the holiday menu at Jock Lindsey’s, so we’re excited to see what comes back, and what, if any, new items get added. Halloween may not be over yet, but Christmas news has been coming in hot! We’ll keep an eye out for any other special holiday announcements related to Disney Springs, and we’ll let you know what we find.
