Even though it’s the most magical place on earth, from time to time, attractions in Disney World do experience issues requiring evacuations or causing them to become temporarily unavailable.
Well, it seems guests headed to their “laughing place” on Splash Mountain in Magic Kingdom today couldn’t quite make it through the mountain and into the briar patch.
Thanks to our reader Dayna Hewitt (@Dayna_michelle on Instagram) who reached out to us via Instagram today to let us know that Splash Mountain had to be evacuated earlier today. Check out the photo she sent us below. You can see some guests still in their boats as others walk toward the exit on the left hand side.
The photo was sent to us around 12:47PM (ET) today, and it appears the evacuation occurred a few minutes before that — around 12:34PM. We’re not sure what has caused this evacuation, but we’ll let you know when we find out more information.
We checked the My Disney Experience app just a few minutes ago and it is showing Splash Mountain as Temporarily Closed at the moment.
We’ll keep an eye on the app to see if the attraction opens up at a later point today. We’ll be on the lookout for more news about this situation, so be sure to come back for more updates.
