No one’s slick as Gaston, no one rides horses like Gaston, no one reopens a restaurant like Gaston!
That’s right! A little while ago we spotted some signs that seemed to suggest Gaston’s Tavern in Magic Kingdom would be reopening soon. Then, we got some official confirmation that it would be opening on Friday, September 4th. So, of course, we made our way over there today to check it out!
After we grabbed our Madame Leota sipper cup this morning in Magic Kingdom(!!), we made our way over to Gaston’s Tavern and saw that it was in fact open!

There were social distancing markers on the outside indicating where guests should stand.
There were also social distancing markers on the floor and stanchions on the inside of the restaurant to organize the flow of guests in this space.
Guests could check out on the registers to the far left and far right, and there were green dots indicating where they should stand.
Some of the fan favorites were still on the menu like LeFou’s Brew and the Warm Cinnamon Roll. We also found that there was a new “The Grey Stuff Cupcake.”
From what we saw, you can only get LeFou’s Brew on its own or in the souvenir stein for now. The Belle Goblet wasn’t available at the time we went, but we’re hoping we’ll see it again soon.
While it’s certainly a limited menu, we were still excited to see this spot open again. We’ll be on the lookout for any more news about other restaurants reopening around Disney World, and let you know what we find. Come back for more updates!
