ICYMI, we just shared our Top Ten pics from our visit yesterday to Disneyland Resort’s Downtown Disney.
From new health and safety signage in front of the park gates to a peek at new merchandise and more, we wanted to give you an overall look at our experience. But now, we’d like to dedicate a little discussion to one of our findings during our visit, as a new Parking Self Pay station has been installed in the Simba Lot.
You can see the structure — with the meters themselves still under wraps — here, with the Parking Self Pay sign easily spotted on top.
A bit of background… since Downtown Disney reopened in July, parking in the Simba lot (which is the only parking lot currently accessible to guests) has been complimentary. However, on the official Disneyland website it has been — and is still — noted that “this offering is temporary,” as the Simba Parking Lot was subject to Downtown Disney’s parking fees (and Annual Passholder parking did not apply) prior to Disneyland’s closure.
Again, as the meters themselves are covered, further information is yet to be revealed. For instance, we do not know who the parking self-pay station is for, as the Simba Parking Lot already has payment booths as drivers enter and exit. We also do not know if this is a sign that complimentary parking in the Simba Lot could be coming to an end soon.

One thing IS certain… we will be keeping our eyes peeled, and keeping you posted right here on DFB, so we hope you’ll stay tuned!
