As we were getting ready to check out all of the Labor Day happenings in Walt Disney World this morning, we took a little detour to Disney’s BoardWalk.

And what’s a stroll on the BoardWalk without a visit to the Boardwalk Bakery? We’re always sure to find something tasty to grab no matter when we stop: breakfast, lunch, or dinner. (And the Bakery’s no slouch when it comes to afternoon snacks, either.) We just so happened to spy something new on our early morning visit today…
A sign noting “Limited Time! Specialty Donuts” was there to greet us this morning! The sign shines the spotlight on an Old-Fashioned Donut, which we’ve seen in the Bakery previously. But the Apple Fritter was new to us…

… and since it’s already the season for pumpkin spices, autumnal apples, and even more fall flavors around these parts, we figured we’d grab the Fritter for breakfast.
Within the display, it’s hard to get a good idea of the Apple Fritter.

So we’re very happy to share with you this vision of icing goodness as it appears outside of the packaging!

And underneath all that icing? Well, there’s plenty of yummy stuff going on here, too.

Big chunks of apple (and plenty of ’em!) are tucked inside the surprisingly moist fritter, which is almost reminiscent of a spice cake.

It’s a very sweet and buttery pastry, though most of the sweetness stems from the generous amount of icing as opposed to the fritter itself.

At $3.99, the Apple Fritter is a good-sized treat that’s a flavorful and filling way to start the day! Here’s hoping this item outlasts its “Limited Time” run, because we’d sure be happy to grab another on a stroll around Disney World’s beautiful BoardWalk!
