We still fondly look back on the days we would hide our Halloween candy so we could savor it long after trick-or-treating. But, nowadays we’d rather just indulge on all the spooky snacks and sips that have been popping up in Disney World instead!
Although pumpkin spice and even poison apples have practically been the poster children for Halloween treats in the parks, there’s something just so nostalgic about candy corn this time of the year. And Disney’s been serving up looks with Candy Corn Witch Ears and mixing up candy corn treats in the parks and resorts for guests of all ages to enjoy!
We couldn’t help but wonder if the newest Halloween treat over at the re-opened Yacht and Beach Club Resort would live up to its previous candy corn competitors! And, in the name of all Halloween candy fans out there, we decided to go find out just how good the Candy Corn Cupcake is for ourselves.
The Market at Ale & Compass and Beach Club Marketplace have become two of our top spots to visit when we’re on the hunt for new Disney cupcakes. So, we weren’t too surprised to see that Fall had swept across the quick-stops, bringing Halloween treats along with it! Along with the Candy Corn Cupcake, the Yacht and Beach Club Resorts are also featuring a Pumpkin Whoopie Pie AND a Tiramisu (and we’ll be bringing you reviews for those soon).
But back to the task at hand! We recently enjoyed a chocolate Minnie Candy Corn Cupcake at Disney’s BoardWalk Resort (there’s a vanilla Mickey version there, too), finding it to be a quality cake with a simple yet classic flavor profile. The version here at Yacht and Beach also presents a basic flavor: it’s a vanilla cupcake with layered buttercream colored to resemble candy corn (of course!), and chocolate Mickey ears to match.
But here’s the thing…
Simply put: this particular take on the Candy Corn Cupcake wasn’t quite as good as the one we ate on Disney’s BoardWalk. We can gladly cheer for those simple flavors when the cake itself is good. But since the cake here was, unfortunately, not as fresh and even a bit dry, it didn’t serve to elevate the classic vanilla flavor, and instead it was.. well, ho-hum.
But don’t forget! We’ve already mentioned that this was NOT the only treat we tried here at Yacht & Beach! We promised you that Tiramisu review AND we’ve got a Pumpkin Whoopie Pie to check out, too! The story doesn’t end here, so stay with us…
In the meantime, if you do really want to reminisce about the good ole’ days of trick-or-treating with the Candy Corn Cupcake, it’s available now through October 31st! And, if you’re craving more Halloween goodies (why wouldn’t you be??), we’ll be taking you with us all around Disney World throughout the season for more frightfully fun treats!
Add a little magic to your holidays with this sparkly Halloween Cupcake at the Disney Resorts!
