Even though it’s only September, we’ve been celebrating Halloween with ALL kinds of merchandise and treats!

Recently, Disney launched a campaign called #DisneyHalloMoments to help fans celebrate spooky season with themed weekend activities and so much more. To kick off this campaign, Disney is hosting a competition that gives you the chance to win a $1,000 Disney gift card to be used on shopdisney or at a Disney Store!

Four $1,000 Disney gift cards are up for grabs as part of this new sweepstakes! To enter for your chance to win one, here’s what you need to do:

1. Download the New Halloween Song

First, you’ll need to download the new Halloween song “Halloween Dance Party” or use the song in Instagram or Reels directly when you make your video (more on that below).

You can download it by visiting the shopDisney website.

2. Put on Your Best Halloween Costume

Next, you’ll need to dress up as your favorite character from Disney, Star Wars, PIXAR, or Marvel.

There are SO many costumes available from shopDisney and other spots — plus tons of creative ways you can make your own costumes using things you’ve got at home. This is the time to use all of your creative skills, watch ALL the online tutorials, and have tons of fun!

3. Make Your Video

Then, you’ll need to make a video that is at least 30 seconds in length which can feature you alone or you and your friends and family performing to the “Halloween Dance Party” song. The official rules state that your performance can include dancing, singing, lip-syncing, or acting. We say — go for all of it! Also, how cute would it be if you got your pets in on the action too?

If you’ve got some serious dance moves you’ve been hiding away, now is the time to dust them off! The entries will be judged based on how well you embrace and embody the character you’re dressed as, attention to detail and storytelling, appropriateness of the setting and scenery, and quality of the performance.

If other people who appear in your video want to enter in the contest as well, they can and they can enter that same video (assuming each person who enters is eligible and complies with the official rules). If you’re thinking of doing this, be sure to read all of the rules!

4. Post Your Masterpiece

Finally, you’ll need to post your Halloween masterpiece to Instagram between September 18th and October 18th. Your entry needs to be in by October 18th at 11:59PM PT. You also must use the #shopDisneyContest hashtag in your post and you must follow @shopDisney on Instagram. Additionally, the post needs to made to your Instagram feed, and not an Instagram Story.

If more than one person in the video enters in the contest, you’ll need to specify in the comments section of the post which character each entrant is dressed as. The contest is only open to legal residents of the 50 states of the United States, and Washington, D.C., who are 18 and older at the time of entry. Also, the rules warn that if your Instagram account is set to private or protected mode, Disney may not be able to see your post and it may not be counted in the competition — so be sure to keep that in mind!
