Have you ever picked up a fork and thought to yourself, “I wish this was hollow”?
If you answered YES, then we’ve found the PERFECT utensils for you! If you answered NO, then you’ll probably just want to read on out of sheer curiosity… .
We’ve encountered some… unusual things in our Disney dining experiences. After all, this is a place where mouth-numbing cocktails and Poop Candy (you read that right) were (and some still ARE) real things.
Now we can add an interesting utensil to our ever-growing list of Disney eccentricities!
It’s a plastic fork-and-knife combo that snaps apart, revealing a fork with a “hollow” knife-shaped middle! This is the strangest fork-shaped thing we’ve seen since Forky! And it’s not nearly as cool as our spork friends in Galaxy’s Edge.
Curiously enough, these are found at BOTH Earl of Sandwich in Downtown Disney in Disneyland Resort, and Chicken Guy in Disney Springs! So clearly there’s some cross-country hollow fork synergy going on. (Also, how much do you love the name of these? “Snap out of it.” Good reminder.)
After getting over the mere strangeness of these utensils, it begs the question: would you prefer to eat with them?
On the one hand, it sure is convenient to combine two utensils in one handy wrapper, and it means fewer things you’ll have to grab with your meal! Also, it cuts down on plastic use, which is GREAT for the environment, so that’s awesome!
On the other hand, what if your finger keeps slipping through the middle of the fork? What if you keep squeezing the plastic together and it’s hard to grip? What if it BREAKS? And the biggest question of all — WHY DOES MY SPOON GET NO RESPECT?!
So many questions, not many answers. Just opinions.
How do YOU feel about these??? YAY, less plastic? Or OK that’s just going to be uncomfortable? Let us know!
