Do you have a Disney opinion that you’re terrified to share with your friends? Is everyone’s favorite attraction your LEAST favorite? Is there a wildly popular snack that you can stand the sight or taste of? Or, are you scared to tell others what your favorite Disney snack is for fear of public shaming?

We totally get it! If asked, we think everyone has an opinion or two that goes against the grain. We opened the ultimate can of worms recently and asked our readers to submit THEIR unpopular Disney opinion, and oh boy, did we get a LOT of responses! It seems like folks had a lot that they wanted to get off of their chest.

Disney Restaurants

There are hundreds of places to grab a bite to eat in Disney World, which almost guarantees that there’s something in the parks and resorts for every taste! Likewise, not EVERY restaurant is going to be a home-run hit with everybody, including the most popular restaurants on property. While you might think that surely everyone loves ‘Ohana, we had one reader tell us that their unpopular opinion was that they didn’t enjoy it!

‘Ohana wasn’t the only crowd favorite that got some heat! We also had readers send in confessions that included, “California Grill is just OK,” and “I don’t like Chef Mickey’s.”

This is a perfect example of why we like to give our readers an idea of what to expect when they dine at the Disney World restaurants, rather than whether a restaurant is “good” or not! We know that there’s a restaurant for everybody, but not everybody is going to like every restaurant!

Dole Whip

Some Disney snacks have stood the test of time and have almost become synonymous with Disney World itself. One such snack is the classic pineapple Dole Whip. It’s so popular, we made sure you had a recipe to make it at home while the parks were closed!

With all the chatter surrounding the Dole Whip, you would think that everyone loves this snack, right? Think again! We actually received many confessions from readers who would absolutely prefer NOT to stomach this frozen treat. 

Just a few of our responses included, “Dole Whip ain’t all that.” “I don’t think Dole Whip is that great.” “I don’t love the Dole Whip.” And even “Dole Whips are gross.”

Alright, alright, we get it! Dole Whip isn’t for everyone! Pineapple can be a pretty polarizing flavor, but luckily over the years, the classic Dole Whip has expanded to other flavors, including lime, lemon, and coconut.

Not only that, but there are Dole Whip floats that come in a variety of flavors! There’s the Kakamora Float, which is coconut soft serve over pineapple juice with blue curaçao (garnished with a l’il chocolate Kakamora cake pop).

If pineapple isn’t your jam whatsoever, we’ve also enjoyed the rotating offerings at Aloha Isle and Sunshine Tree Terrace like Redd’s Revenge. This float comes with strawberry Dole Whip, strawberry Fanta, and a chocolate pirate’s hat!

Just like restaurants, not every snack is going to be a knock-out for every guest that tries it, and that’s okay! That’s why Disney World has such a wide variety of both sweet and savory snacks.

Rides and Attractions

If there’s a topic that’s bound to start some kind of debate in Disney World, it’s deciding which ride or attraction everyone loves the most. We even hosted our own Rides and Attractions Throw Down to see which ride would right supreme.

Just because a ride is deemed “popular,” it doesn’t mean it’s beloved by everyone! In fact, we probably read at least one of these confessions per attraction! That’s right, there ARE those out there who don’t like Haunted Mansion!

Whether a ride seems to be “overrated,” “doesn’t live up to the hype,” “not worth the wait,” or downright “awful,” the most popular attractions in Disney World were served several slices of humble pie from our readers!

Lesser-known rides are faves:

On the flip side, there were some readers whose unpopular opinions had more to do with their FAVORITE ride being a lesser-known, not-so-popular ride!

Some of our favorite responses were in this category! We had one reader who said, “That Living With the Land is amazing!!!” Another reader thinks that “Carousel of Progress deserves as much love and attention as other classic attractions!” And finally, one reader confessed to us that they think “Journey Into Imagination is an amazing ride.”

We want you to feel PROUD of your favorite ride! You may be surprised by just how many of our readers agree with you! If you prefer a leisurely boat ride that takes you by a variety of fruits and vegetables rather than animatronic pirates, that’s totally okay!
