We’re 100% willing to wait in line for life-changing cookies.
Which is why we were psyched to discover that one of our FAVORITE cookie shops is testing out a new line management system to make waiting that much easier, and safer!
We’ve been anxiously awaiting the arrival of the new Disney Springs location for Gideon’s Bakehouse ever since the Orlando cookie shop announced it would be coming to Disney World.
And while we wait, it seems the owners are testing out a virtual queue format for their Orlando location. The company shared the news of testing out a virtual queue on their Instagram, writing that they’ll be “testing out a line management program.”
This morning, we headed to the original Gideon’s at Orlando’s East End Market to test it out! Cookie-craving customers were able to add their name and number to a virtual queue and hang out at the market instead of standing in line. When it was our turn, we were sent a second text letting us know where to return.
Once added, the queue shows your place in line, along with an estimated wait time. For us, 30 minutes is a piece of cake. Or should we say, Frankenstein Cake!
When the wait is over, you simply mosey over to the bakery’s side entrance, and voila! It’s cookie o’clock!
Compared to the typically cramped lines at this uber-popular bakery, a virtual format like this is an exciting change! We’ll be curious to see how things operate once the Disney Springs location arrives, and if they will be implementing this same process!
The cookie shop coming to Disney Springs has a surprisingly mysterious backstory!
