Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground is typically known for its fun Halloween activities.
Normally, there are elaborate decorations from campers, trick-or-treating, and other festivities that really bring this resort to life. However, this year, Halloween will be slightly different at the resort due to the coronavirus pandemic.
One of the biggest changes is that there will be no trick-or-treating at Fort Wilderness this year. Although this is an annual tradition, Disney has banned the tradition based on guidance by local health authorities due to the global health crisis.
Other Halloween activities are still being offered, but they may look a little different. The pet costume contest and pumpkin carving contest are still on, but with modifications. Guests can also participate in the golf cart and campsite decorating contests, again with some modifications.
Fort Wilderness also introduced a new pumpkin patch scavenger hunt that allows guests to search the resort for pumpkins decorated with Disney villains! (We recently found a few ourselves!)
Disney encourages guests in costumes to read Disney World’s official costume guidelines. The company also reminds guests that a Halloween mask is not considered an appropriate face covering. We’ll keep an eye on the Halloween situation, including what those modifications are, at Fort Wilderness and let you know about any other changes!
