All of Disney’s theme parks, except those at Disneyland Resort in California, have since reopened. But, as the situation with the coronavirus develops, changes continue to occur. Big changes are coming very soon to France that will likely impact Disneyland Paris.

According to Bloomberg, French President Emmanuel Macron has imposed a new nationwide lockdown, “clamping down on movement” due to the “rapid spread of the coronavirus” in France. The lockdown is set to begin this Friday.

Less than a week ago, France expanded a curfew to about 2/3 of the population in an attempt to regain control of the pandemic. According to Bloomberg, healthcare officials have noted, however, that “infections and hospitalizations are rising at such a pace that avoiding tighter measures is no longer possible.”

Last week, French authorities reported 4 consecutive days of record infections, and COVID-19 cases in France now average more than 38,000 a day. The weekly pace appears to be climbing for the past 25 days.

Disney has yet to make a statement on this matter or any official announcements related to Disneyland Paris, but we are on the lookout for that information and will continue to update you as we learn more.
