Although our waffle preference often involves Mickey shapes, we pretty much love ALL waffles.
The Waffles Booth at the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival hasn’t been around for long, but we’re fans of the Belgian waffles there. So when we learned that there were some new waffles on the menu, we HAD to try them out!
The previous menu included a Belgian waffle served with chocolate ganache and whipped cream, along with a Belgian waffle served with berry compote and whipped cream. And we were big fans of the berry waffle!
But the berry waffle is now gone! OH NO! In fact, the menu is now completely different and features two NEW waffles: the Bananas Foster Waffle and the Chicken and Waffle.
We decided to try out both! We started with the Chicken and Waffle, which is chicken and a waffle served with a bacon and onion jam and sriracha maple syrup. Um… YES, PLEASE! This was SO yummy, but we did find a few bites a little dry, so we had more of the onion jam.
The chicken reminds us a lot of the chicken served at The Citrus Blossom Booth at the EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival. It’s really fresh and crispy. There’s a slight kick from the syrup, thanks to the sriracha, and we wanted even more of it! This was so good that we might count it as a festival fave! You can try it out for yourself for $6.50.
Did someone say dessert? Although we’re still a little sad about the Berry Waffle being gone, we tried the Bananas Foster Waffle. This is a waffle with bananas foster on top served with whipped cream. Even if you aren’t crazy about bananas, this is one tasty treat.
Since banana foster is caramelized bananas, we totally wanted a little more caramel flavor!
Is this the best banana foster sauce we’ve had in Disney World? No, ‘Ohana’s banana foster sauce definitely wins in that department. If we had to choose, we’d pick the berry waffle (please bring it back!) over this one, but if you like bananas, this one will probably be your jam! The Bananas Foster Waffle is $4.25.
Even though the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival now has an end date, we will continue showing you the best eats you can find at the festival so stay tuned!
