Disney World tends to spoil us for choice when it comes to options for our MagicBand collection. Now, two new MagicBand designs are available for a pre-arrival exclusive preorder for Resort Guests — and one of them has us thinking that the MagicBand people maybe missed a memo.

Back in July, we reported that a few Disney World attractions are closed indefinitely — Stitch’s Great Escape, Primeval Whirl, and Rivers of Light. So what’s up with this Rivers of Light MagicBand? It’s cute…but the timings a little off.
As we mentioned, two new MagicBands were released as pre-arrival exclusive preorders for Resort Guests and those with renewed Annual Passes. The one that piqued our attention the most was the Rivers of Light MagicBand. True, Disney sometimes releases merchandise based on extinct attractions — but this has us saying “Too soon.”

The special price on this MagicBand is $20 when it would typically run you around $29.99. Don’t get us wrong, it’s a super pretty design. If you’re looking for an orange band to round out your collection, this could be the one. Just say a little RIP to Rivers of Light as you order it.

The other MagicBand is this super-patriotic Americana Mickey MagicBand (that we’ve seen in the parks) for a preorder price of $15.99 compared to a typical value of $20.99. This one is totally a late arrival from July 4th, but Walt loved America year-round and you can rep that love too.
