2020 will be remembered for a lot of big things. It’s the year everything — including Disney World — shut down, the year we saw never before seen mask mandates in the park, and, for fans of the Holiday Season, the year we won’t get to see all of the elaborate gingerbread displays we’ve looked forward to each year at Disney World.
But there is at least ONE gingerbread display we know we can look forward to checking out this year (and it’s a favorite of ours!).
In a world of massive Grand Floridian gingerbread houses and Beach Club gingerbread carousels, there are a few equally impressive smaller displays hidden around the parks and resorts. One that Disney has now confirmed is returning is the gingerbread display in the American Adventure in EPCOT in years past. But it has a catch this year.
You WON’T find this incredibly patriotic Capitol City Gingerbread Display in the American Adventure this year. Instead, it will be housed over in World Showplace. The display will be slightly different than last year’s and will feature the United States Capitol Building, the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial, and a 5-foot tall Washington Monument!
This display is a favorite of ours to check out in past years, so we’re glad to see it making an appearance once again. Be sure to swing by World Showplace where, aside from sampling items at some of the newly announced Festival Booths, you can check out Disney’s pastry chefs’ little sweet salute to America (in cookie form). We’ll keep you posted with all the latest news out of Disney World this coming Holiday Season!
