Jambo everyone, and welcome to Disney’s Animal Kingdom!
Join us on a virtual walk around this park and see what new and exciting food, merchandise, and other finds we spotted during our most recent visit!
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Food Updates
Let’s start with the good stuff — FOOD! Recently, we got the chance to eat at Yak & Yeti Restaurant in the Asia section of Animal Kingdom and we tasted some NEW dishes! We grabbed the Pink Lady drink created in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness, as well as the Bang Bang Calamari…
…Hibachi Steak and Shrimp, Malaysian Seafood Curry, and the Aware Cheesecake (another item that benefits the Breast Cancer Awareness fund). YUM.
Were the items we tried as good as the dishes we’ve had at this restaurant in the past? Read our review to find out!

After our lunch, we made our way to Dawa Bar. This spot reopened a few weeks ago, but was initially only set to be open on the weekends.
We had noticed some new-to-us signs there recently, but today we spotted ANOTHER update. No need to worry anymore if you won’t be visiting Animal Kingdom on the weekend, Dawa Bar is now set to be open everyday!
Hooray! That means we’ve got even more chances to enjoy some delicious beers and other drinks from this spot.

But wait, there’s MORE! Anandapur Ice Cream Truck recently started selling Tiger Beer, but during our most recent visit we saw that they are now also offering the Hitachino Nest White Ale, described as a Blonde mildly-hopped Belgian-style Beer, that Thirsty River Bar & Trek Snacks has also been selling.
Currently, Anandapur Ice Cream Truck is actually offering 3 different beers.
So, if some of the other spots around Animal Kingdom are a bit busier, or you’re simply closer to the Anandapur Ice Cream Truck…
…be sure to stop by and check what they’ve got available.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Merchandise Updates
No trip to Disney is complete without at least a LOOK at the merchandise. Over at Discovery Trading Company we found a “The Child” kids t-shirt.
In between our Halloween movie marathons, we’ve been re-watching Season 1 of The Mandalorian to prepare for Season 2. What could be better than watching the show with this awesome shirt? Also, peep all the other adorable Baby Yoda merch nearby!
You can snag one of these shirts right now for $19.99.
At Island Mercantile we found an ADORABLE window decals set which comes with both a Mickey…
…and a Minnie design.
Anyone else remember when having a full family (pets included) in the form of window decals on your car was a HUGE thing? Well, these aren’t as crazy as that, but they can add a nice, little Disney touch to your window.
You can grab a set for yourself for $17.99.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Ride Updates and More!
Time for some thrills! There was quite a line for Expedition Everest when we last visited.
Hope all those guests are ready for an exciting ride past the yeti!
We got the chance to ride DINOSAUR (with only a 5 minute wait!) during our most recent trip…
…and noticed that the plexiglass barriers are still in use. These barriers are in place behind the first row of the ride vehicles…
…and Cast Members are only seating guests in rows 1 and 3 of the vehicles. We’ve seen this in place at this attraction for a while.
We also spotted plexiglass barriers at The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror in Disney’s Hollywood Studios recently.
We’ve seen new, stricter face mask signs around Disney World informing guests that they must wear approved masks as required or they will be asked to leave. We saw these signs near the entrance to Animal Kingdom recently, but during our latest trip we also heard an updated overhead announcement at the park indicating that “Guests that do not comply [to the mask mandate] will be asked to leave.”
Click here to listen to the new announcement!
We also spotted the new face mask signs in Pandora — The World of Avatar.
This was the first time we had actually seen these signs outside of the main entrance area.
And, finally, to end our virtual trip, enjoy some of the beautiful scenery around Pandora…
…and Animal Kingdom generally.
Oh, and we can’t forget those awesome character cavalcades!
So fun! Well, that’s all for us from Animal Kingdom. We hope you enjoyed this wild, virtual adventure! Be sure to come back for more updates.
