We’ve been making our way around the Disney World theme parks and resorts to see what’s new. From Halloween snacks to new merchandise, there’s so much to see!
Recently, we visited Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground and Disney’s Wilderness Lodge to see what fun things we could find there. Join us on a trip to the most magical place on earth and into the wilderness to see what’s new at these spots!
Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
First stop on our trip — Disney’s Wilderness Lodge!
We don’t think we’ll ever get over just how beautiful this resort is. Let’s take a trip around and see what’s new!
Wilderness Lodge Food Update
Since we’re on the hunt for ALL things Halloween, we had to stop by Roaring Fork, a quick service spot at this hotel, to see if there was anything new.
We’ve already tried the Going Batty Cupcake…
…and Spooky Mickey Brownie from this spot before.
We didn’t see any new treats this time around. We asked about their donuts (they had an awesome Halloween donut last year), but the Cast Member we spoke to said they’re not offering donuts at this time with their limited menu. Hopefully we’ll see some donuts or more fun treats at this spot soon!
Wilderness Lodge Construction Update
We also saw some work going on around the Lodge.
It looks like a new cell tower or something of the sort was being worked on.
Wilderness Lodge Merchandise Update
What’s a trip to a Disney hotel without a stop at the gift shop? While we were in the gift shop at Wilderness Lodge, we spotted a few fun pins for all you pin collectors! First, there’s an adorable pin with Mickey, Goofy, Donald, and Humphrey the Bear in the style of the totem pole outside of the gift shop!
We also found a nice pin with the resort logo on it.
Nearby, we also found a newer version of a magnet with the resort logo on it.
The resort magnet and pin make quite the cute combo!
Wilderness Lodge Halloween Activities
While we were at the Lodge, we spotted a NEW Halloween pumpkin patch scavenger hunt! It was really similar to the Hidden Mickey scavenger hunt they normally offer, but we were really happy to see a Halloween-specific activity available.
So, of course we had to take a little trip around the resort and see what we could find. Spoiler alert! For those of you who want to participate in this scavenger hunt and have it be a total surprise, skip ahead a little bit! But, for those who are ready to get spoiled (and then you can totally do this scavenger hunt and impress your family when you find some of these pumpkins quickly!) here’s a peek at some of the prompts!
And we’re off to find some pumpkins! We found a Dr. Facilier pumpkin…
…a Mother Gothel Pumpkin…
…and a Maleficent Pumpkin all around the inside and outside of the hotel.
It really was a fun activity to add to our day!
Wilderness Lodge Transportation Update
Finally, we made our way over to the boat dock.
We had originally planned to take a boat to Fort Wilderness, but we discovered that you actually cannot take a boat from Wilderness Lode to Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground or Disney’s Contemporary Resort at the moment.
Instead, boat transportation is only being offered to and from Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and Magic Kingdom currently.
So, to make our way over to Fort Wilderness by boat, we had to grab a boat from Wilderness Lodge to Magic Kingdom, and then grab the boat from Magic Kingdom to Fort Wilderness.
No matter, it was a lovely day and sometimes there’s nothing better than taking some time out of a busy trip to just enjoy the scenery around Disney World.

Fort Wilderness Food Update
Once we finally got over to Fort Wilderness, we stopped by P & J’s Southern Takeout, a quick service spot located near Trail’s End Restaurant. This restaurant is now available on Mobile Order, so if you’re looking to grab a quick bite while you’re at the campgrounds you’ll want to keep that in mind (fried chicken to go sounds like a good plan to us).
While we were at P & J’s we took a look at their snack offerings to see if we could find any spooktacular treats, and sure enough there were a few Halloween items available.
First, we tried the Candy Corn Cupcake! Although this may look like a fairly standard (but super adorable) cupcake from the outside, it’s got a candy corn surprise on the inside that takes this treat to the next level!
You can grab one of these at P & J’s Southern Takeout for $4.99.

Next, we tried the Frightfully Spooky Strawberry Shortcake Push Pop! Can we all just take a quick second to admire the cute way in which these push pops are displayed? So much wilderness love.
This spooky treat features chocolate shortcake, macerated strawberries, purple whipped cream, more chocolate shortcake, more macerated strawberries, green whipped cream, and sprinkles on top.
WHEW! That’s a LOT of layers! Is this Halloween snack a treat or just a trick? Check out our full review to find out!
